• Noyna Hall Barn - Foulridge 2011

This is an installation of Solar Thermal evacuated tube panels by Ryan Waine. The customer is extremely impressed by the saving on his oil consumption and informs us "in summer it doesn't even fire up!"

  • Stone Edge House - Blacko 2014

Here is a Viessmann Vitocell 300 located on the roof of a new extension in Blacko. You can also see in the picture the vertical flue from the boiler, this was a Viessmann 222 with integral cylinder. We recorded a temperature of 37 degrees when we set them up when the external temperature was down at 9!

Renewable Technology by Ryan Waine

As most of us are all well aware we live world where we are encouraged to reduce our carbon foot print and become more 'eco' friendly.  Your home heating system is no different, the goverment have several initiatives in place to encourage home owners to install renewable systems.  The systems that are eligable for the RHI (Renewable Heat Insentive) paymentis includes, Solar Thermal (Hot Water), Solar PV (Electric), Heat Pump (Air Source), Heat Pump (Ground Source) and Biomass (Wood Pellets).  Not only can you receve payments direct the home owner from between £200 - £4000 you save on your energy bills aswell!

Each payment and saving is unique to the property and the amount of occupants.  Ryan Waine can visit your home and undertake a FREE no obligation assement and calculate both the amount or engery you will save and the RHI amount you will recieve per year.

The RHI is also eligble to commercial sector aswell with HUGE repayments which are guaranteed for 20 years!

Systems Explained...

Solar Thermal

Solar system use free heat from the sun to warm domestic hot water.  A boiler or immersion heater can then be used to make the water hotter or provide hot water when the solar engery is not available

The benifits of Solar Hot Water:

  • Hot water throughout the year:  The system works all year round however you will need to increase the temperature using an alternative heat source during winter months (I.e boiler/immersion heater)
  • Cut your bills: Sunlight is FREE!  Therefore once you have paid for the initial installation your hot water costs will be dramatically reduced
  • Cut your Carbon Footprint: Solar Hotwater is a green, renewable heating system and can reduce your carbon dioxide emmissions
  • Recieve income: For a selected time you may be eligable for the RHI scheme where you will be paid to have Solar in your property (Amounts vairy depending on you property and its occupants)

How do Solar Systems Work?

Solar water heating systems use solar panels, called collectors, fitted to your roof.  These collect heat fromt he sun and use it to heat up water which is stored in a hot water cylinder.  A boiler or immersion heater can be used as a back up to heat the water further to reach the temperature you want.

There are two types of Solar 'Collectors':

Evactuated Tubes - Mounted on top of roofing material (Pictured above)

Flat Panel - Mouted on top of roofing material or can be Integrated into the roof structure
